#The quick start, step by step

  1. Install FileAgent on your chosen host — Windows or Linux.
  2. Open the console over HTTPS and create your administrator account.
  3. Activate your license if you purchased a plan (Settings → Licensing). Skip on Free.
  4. Add a credential for your first remote system and use Test connection (Destinations & testing). Local folders don't need one.
  5. Create a job in Copy mode pointing at a safe test destination (Creating a job).
  6. Run it now and review the result in Logs — confirm the right files moved.
  7. Schedule it and switch to the transfer mode you actually need (Schedules, Transfer modes).
  8. Turn on failure alerts so problems find you (Notifications).
Validate every new job with a manual run into a scratch destination before scheduling it or switching to Move/Sync-Mirror. A two-minute test now prevents a surprise at 2 AM.
